2007 GRAND FINAL ON SUNDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER AT THE BRIT OVAL
Many congratulations to Ealing who beat Blackheath by six wickets in the Final of the Challenge Trophy held at the Brit Oval on Sunday 16 th September.
Blackheath's total of 222 all out was mainly supplied by a very solid middle order partnership between Peter Dean who made 64 and Paul Frith 61. The Ealing bowling honours went to Chris Peploe 4-39 and Simon Hawk 3-26 both remarkably good figures on a very flat Oval pitch. The Blackheath score always looked well under par in the conditions and Ealing's vigorous opening partnership of Simon Hawk and Sameer Patel made short work of the Blackheath opening attack. Patel's 61 from a mere 11 overs won him the Man of the Match Award as Ealing romped home with almost 9 overs to spare.
The Challenge Trophy was presented to Ealing captain Luke Stoughton by Simon Dyson the Finance Director of Associated Newspapers who helped found the Tournament back in 1992
